Title: Science (Energy Studies), Graduate Diploma
Institution: Murdoch University, Australia

Level:

Diploma, postgraduate.

Description:
Energy specialists need to have a sound knowledge of energy sources, the methods of energy conversion and the characteristics of different forms of energy. In recent years a number of new concerns have emerged in the energy field. These include the threats to oil supplies due to political instability in major supply areas and increasing concerns about environmental pollution from energy generation and use.

People involved in energy planning need to have a sound understanding of energy technology and a knowledge of a range of disciplines such as economics, mathematics, physics, chemistry, geology and environmental science. This qualification is intended for science or engineering graduates who wish to specialise in energy studies. It offers some flexibility of choice and the opportunity to explore an area in depth via a short research project.
